Women are fundamentally BAD at taking credit for ANYTHING that they’ve accomplished.
We dismiss experience. We dismiss achievements. We dismiss the HARD WORK we’ve done.
Well today – we DO NOT.
Here’s the thing about you & your background….everything about you….all of your experiences [personal & professional] are the things that truly set you apart from everything & everyone else.
Worked in fast food? That counts.
Worked in retail? That counts.
Stayed at home with children at a young age? That counts.
Only have a high school degree? That counts.
Completed random certifications & trainings at your corporate job? Those count.
It all counts.
Everything you’ve done up until this point ADDS UP to who you are & what you bring to the table. AKA: Your Secret Sauce.
I’ll tell you – that nothing compares to industry knowledge. Nothing.
NOTHING prepares you to be an independent freelancer MORE than what you’ve already learned in the work experience you’ve completed up until this point.
Because you KNOW how the industry works. You know how people/customers ACT within the industry. You know the “dos & don’ts” of the industry. You know the industry like the back of your hand.
Which means – you have a leg up on someone who does not.
Sometimes we mistake being “new” at something as being inexperienced.
This is fundamentally not true.
Doing something for the first time means you are LEARNING – but it does not mean you’re inexperienced. You’re simply expanding your knowledge base.
Take the word “inexperienced” out of your head. If you THINK you are – you’re going to act like it. Which means you’ll lack the confidence to TRY something new.
Let’s look at you freelancing as a LATERAL move. You’re not STARTING over – you’re doing something different.
Different does not mean “new” or “at the bottom.”
I want to give some examples of HOW this looks in action. We’re going to use a few of our students as real life examples to help paint the picture for you.
That’s what we do at HerHQ.
We help HUNDREDS of women a year create a new narrative for their life. These are just two of those examples.
